Honō Izakaya

Honō Izakaya is a small Japanese tavern that has been open since 2018. We specialize in small sharing dishes that honor Japanese traditions and integrate local products. The cocktail & bar program is an integral part of our identity and one of the key reasons behind our success and reputation. The bar offers a range of natural and local wines, and a diverse selection of sake, all served in a relaxed, warm, and festive atmosphere.

The establishment was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2025 Michelin Guide, ranked 29th in Canada’s 50 Best Bars 2020, named Bartender of the Year at the Lauriers de la Gastronomie 2023 (Julien Vézina), and placed twice in the top 10 of Patrón Perfectionists in Canada (Julien Vézina). Honō Izakaya has also been a three-time nominee for Best Resto/Bar (Canada) at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards.
